The Material

Solid black walnut sourced from the Willamette Valley. Dense and tight-grained with a depth of color that photographs don't fully capture, deep chocolate brown that gets richer with age and use. Hard enough to hold a clean edge through daily use. Smooth enough to work on ceramic, wood, stone, and slate without scratching. Non-porous enough that it doesn't absorb the flavor of whatever you spread last.

Zero Micro-Plastics

Metal spreaders leave marks on ceramic. Plastic ones flex in ways that feel cheap and shed microplastic particles every time they contact food. Solid hardwood does neither. It holds its shape, holds its edge, and has been a safe material in direct food contact for as long as kitchens have existed.

Food-Safe

Finished with the same food-safe hard wax oil used on every AWG utensil. 100% plant-based, food contact safe in wet and dry states.

Wood is Natural

Note: There will be variations of color, and wood grain, even when using the same species of wood resulting in a completely unique product.
