Oregon White Oak: The Barrel Wood

At around 1,360 lbf on the Janka hardness scale, white oak is hard enough to resist deep knife marks yet soft enough to protect knife edges better than ultra-hard woods. Tannins found in white oak offer mild antimicrobial effects but not a replacement for proper cleaning, just an extra layer of protection between uses. This is a wood that was made for contact with liquid, food, and daily use.

Food Contact Safe

Wood oil finish is 100% plant-based formulation that sinks deeply into wood fiber and pores to condition, seal, and protect the wood. Makes for easy cleaning and minimal maintenance. Boards are made with Titebond III wood glue which is FDA Approved food contact safe.

Locally Sourced Oregon White Oak

Oregon White Oak doesn't grow everywhere. It's native to the Pacific Northwest, our backyard. Sourcing it locally means shorter supply chains, lower emissions, and a board that carries the specific character of this region's forests. The grain on your Pearl Board grew in Oregon. It was made in Oregon.

Wood is Natural

Note: There will be variations of color, and wood grain, even when using the same species of wood resulting in a completely unique product.

Wabi Sabi

Craftsmanship

We make our goods to ensure they stick around. Good, old-fashioned craftsmanship is something the world needs more of. Quality over quantity. We promise to never sacrifice the quality or longevity of a product for the sake anything else.

Form & Function

Our goods will not only perform well at their function but will look good as they do it. They will put a smile on your face and soul. We don't want to make more of the same. The world needs more creativity, originality and quality.
