Portland Custom Art Framing

We only use 100% solid woods, none of that new-age, particular core, fake facade, clown face, fu-fu-faux shit. Our locally-made solid wood art frames are made with mitre joints, strengthened with wood tenons for glue line support. We like our joints here. 

We can customize your frames to meet whatever your imagination can muster or budget will allow. Take a look below at our "off the wall" options to get you started. If you have something else in mind send us a photo and we'll see what we can do. If you don't mind some do-it-yourself wood frame finishing, we can do the wood working part and pass it off to you for finish (applying wood finish, plexi, backing, hanging, and/ or art mounting).

Artwork Protection

We offer three different artwork protection options.

  • Plexiglass
  • Glare/ UV Resistant Plexiglass
  • Gallery, Floating (no plexi, open front)

Hanging Options

Hanging needs can vary, we offer many different types depending on your requirements.

Maple

Lively light maple wood offers strength and a bright finish.

Cherry

A happy medium in wood tone color with warm reddish hues.

Walnut

Rich and timeless. Walnut is will easily add a dash of elegance.

Hickory

Durable, grainy, and eclectic with a wide color variety.

Rustic/ Reclaimed

Bring warmth and personality to accompany your artwork.

White Oak

Classic white oak hugs your art cozy brown-grey hue.

Paint or Stain

Add color to grain with milk paint or spray for max vibrance.

Frame Style

Modern

Simply sturdy. Let the wood do the talking and add to the artwork. Profile: 1.5" deep/ 3/4" thick on the face.

Traditional

Slightly wider face give your artwork a classic look, perfect for your inner boomer. Profile: 3/4" deep/ 1.5" thick on the face.

Wide

This lil gordito frame adds a chonky look drawing extra attention to your art piece. Profile: 3/4" deep/ 2.5" thick on the face.

Rounded

For those bigger art pieces this option will handle the long widths and tall heights to warping at bay.

Questions & Answers

  • Yes and yes, Let's talk. We can source a variety of woods and colors. From rustic reclaimed to adding color to a lighter species.

  • Yes bulk order start at 5 frames. Inquire for more details about bulk order discounts.

  • Yes all our backing options use acid-free foam board to ensure we're not the ones who screw up your beloved artwork, we'll leave that to you.

  • Yes, we can accomodate rush orders to a reasonable extent. If you're in a tight spot and local to the Portland area we can help.

  • We do not provide matting around the artwork at this time. However feel free to order on the side.

  • Glass is heavy, it can break during shipping, and is more expensive. Plexiglass does the job very well, is drop resistant and is much lighter.

  • Minimum size is 8" x 8" however if needing more than five frames we can accommodate smaller sizes.

  • At least two weeks unless its a rush order, however we will provide an estimate upon quote.

  • All orders start at $75. We provide exceptional quality and affordability for custom framing using only solid hardwoods. Please send in a qoute for more exact pricing.

  • We can work with you on cost saving measures. We can provide frames without plexi, backing, hanging, and/ or finishing so you can still receive a solid, sturdy wood frame at a lower price if you don't mind a little work.
